Team

Two founders, one water problem.

We're building Aeromonia in the Wond'ry's IMPACT Program at Vanderbilt University.

Co-founder · Data & controls

Zahir builds the sensing, control and simulation software behind Aeromonia. Zahir specializes in machine learning, AI and software development, including computer-vision models for scientific research.

How it started

It began at a wastewater plant in Colorado.

After touring a wastewater treatment plant in Colorado, we learned that aeration was the least efficient process in the facility, and the plant director's biggest operational headache.

When we dug into the science, we found that aeration and ammonia control are bottlenecks well beyond municipal wastewater plants. They show up in any industry running a complex water loop.

We came to water from outside the industry, so we learned it from the people who run it. We researched on our own, attended specialist workshops and walked the floor at major water and tech conferences. We have now held 80+ interviews with customers and domain experts, including process engineers and operators, and mapped the chemical and mechanical workflow from the ground up.

Then the direction became clear. Industry news keeps reporting that data centers are being pushed toward reclaimed water, often without automated tools to handle its volatile chemistry. That is the gap Aeromonia is built for.
